Our courses:

The University of Tasmania is very highly regarded for its commitment to excellence in learning and teaching.  The QS Stars 2013 rankings awarded the University five stars for internationalisation and five stars for teaching.  

Additionally, in 2012 UTAS received more teaching awards than any other Australian university (Australian Government Office of Learning and Teaching). 

The University offers more than 100 undergraduate (bachelor) degrees, and more than 150 postgraduate programs from Graduate Certificates through to Masters and research programs.

The University has three specialist institutes - the Australian Maritime College (AMC), the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) and the Menzies Research Institute Tasmania – and six faculties: Arts, Business, Education, Health Science, Law and Science, Engineering and Technology.  

Scholarships:

The Tasmanian International Scholarships (TIS) program at UTAS is one of Australia’s most generous, rewarding academic achievement with a 25% reduction on registered tuition fees for most undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.  

Foundation Studies Program (FSP)

UTAS Foundation Studies is an innovative integrated program which equips students with knowledge and skills for success at university. The program is a 28 week Standard Foundation as approved by Australian government legislation. This is an excellent opportunity to commence a University of Tasmania degree course after 28 weeks of study.

Students with Forecast or Trial Exam results (SPM and Senior Middle Two) are acceptable for entry into the UTAS Foundation Studies (and scholarship).

Accommodation:

UTAS offers a range of warm, welcoming student accommodation options, both on and off-campus in Hobart and Launceston.  All University student accommodation is within walking distance of the university and just a short bus ride to the city centre.
