An engineering education with a difference
The students admitted to INSA-Toulouse are all excellent: their average at the Baccalauréat is 16.5! The challenge is, in a few years, to turn these academically talented students into young professionals who are enterprising, innovative and open to the world.
Fostering active learning
From the very beginning of the first year, students are set complex projects which they tackle in groups, tutored by teachers. The objective is to confront them from the start with professional problems, to help them learn to work together in a group, to look for relevant information, to stimulate their inquisitiveness.
Problem/Project based learning is at the heart of teaching at INSA-Toulouse. Moreover, several lecturers are working on active learning methods within international research networks.
Developing all talents
INSA systematically encourages students to develop their specific talents. Top level musicians and athletes are able to follow specially adapted courses. Involvement in cultural projects or in associations and community activities is recognised in specific accredited modules.
Alongside the disciplines in science and technology, courses in the humanities, sport and numerous education broadening modules are also proposed.
Techniques to know oneself better
It is not easy to have a clear idea of what one wants to do professionally at the age of twenty. Students at INSA-Toulouse benefit from a personal guidance programme throughout their five-year course to help them make appropriate choices in accordance with their personality, their strengths and the expectations of the job market. Professional coaches provide valuable support.
An education supported by leading edge research
The presence of renowned laboratories on campus is an advantage for students who are taught by faculty in direct contact with the latest scientific advances.
