Nestled in the heart of the Midwest just 50 miles (81km) from St. Paul and Minneapolis, UW-Stout is located in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The campus is situated in the downtown area with breathtaking views of the 1009-acre (408 hectares) Lake Menomin. SCHOLARSHIPS
International Student Tuition Scholarship
Type of Scholarship: Academic, for international students only
General Information: Students receiving other types of scholarships are not eligible. Students must re-apply each semester by the December 1st deadline for the following spring semester and May 1st deadline for the following fall semester. Awarding is based on a student’s academic progress, involvement with the university and community and financial need. Continued eligibility will be determined by the Office of International Education.
Admissions Requirements:
GPA 3.0 or higher: $5,000 per academic year (undergraduate students)
GPA 3.33 or higher: $6,000 per academic year (graduate students)

#YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship
Type of Scholarship: Academic, for incoming first-year undergraduate international students only
General Information: Students receiving other types of scholarships are not eligible. Awarding is based on a student’s academic progress, involvement with the university and community, financial need, and interest/initiative in promoting intercultural learning and exchange. Awarded to two students every fall term. Continued eligibility will be determined by the Office of International Education.
Admissions Requirements:
GPA 3.5 or higher: 50% of non-resident tuition per academic year
Application Deadline: April 1.
Stout University Foundation Scholarships
Type of Scholarship: Academic, International, Financial Need
General Information: Every year Stout Foundation awards approximately $850,000 in scholarships. Awards are given out based on different categories such as GPA, financial need, major of study, academic status in university and more.

Application Deadline: First Monday in February for the following academic year

What’s included?
Tuition and fees: Undergraduate tuition and fees are based off 30 credits (most programs require 120 credits to graduate). ESL Institute tuition and fees are based off 24 credits. Student services such as international student services, tutoring centers, math centers, and writing centers included in this fee. City transportation via the city bus and UW-Stout campus shuttle included in this fee as well.
On-Campus Housing, Food and Living Expenses: Many international students live and eat on campus. The housing contract reserves your room and meal plan for the academic year, and you can choose to live on campus during the summer (no summer meal plans available, however).
Books and Supplies: All textbooks are included. In addition, all international students will receive a new laptop with all program software upon arrival. After the laptop is two years old, students will receive an updated laptop (upon return of old laptop) and software. Students have the option to keep the laptop when they graduate.
Health Insurance: Health insurance is mandatory.
Tuition and fees are required to be paid at the beginning of each semester. An annual increase in total expenses of approximately 8% should be taken into consideration when making financial plans for more than one year of study at UW-Stout.
